Ubers
It is illegal for Uber drivers to pick up riders from SJD. Transportation officials can remove passengers from vehicles at any time.
However, it is possible to take Uber or other ride share apps TO the airport FROM the Hyatt. Jamie & Ben did this for their return to the U.S. after their visit last December. It cost a total of $20.88 in USD for that one-way transport from hotel to airport.
Taxi
Taxis in Los Cabos are large blue or turquoise (occasionally white) vans that seat 8 to 10 people but are comparatively steep. A taxi from the international or SJD airport to Cabo San Lucas will cost you a minimum of $80. This cost covers up to 4 people. Each extra person is $20 p.p.
If you’re traveling as a couple, that cost is about double the price of a shared airport shuttle.
Again, we recommend an airport shuttle reserved in advance over a taxi.
Public Bus
If you are feeling adventurous & cost conscious, the Ruta del Desierto bus is the inexpensive public Cabo airport bus (https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Attraction_Review-g152516-d8670901-Reviews-Ruta_del_Desierto-San_Jose_del_Cabo_Los_Cabos_Baja_California.html). It runs every day to and from the Cabo airport. For more information on Ruta del Desierto, check this thread on TripAdvisor.
If you understand Spanish, here’s the bus line’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064376754209. (Facebook also does a credible job at translating into English.)
