FAQs
1. What date should I RSVP by?
Kindly RSVP by August 26, 2024
2. What are the addresses of the wedding ceremony and reception venues? Are they wheelchair accessible?
All wedding events will be held at the Hyatt Ziva. The wedding ceremony will be at the wedding gazebo and the wedding reception will be at the ocean gazebo decks.
There will be post-ceremony drinks prior to the reception (but don't get lit, just yet!) : )
Each location will have a sign and the event name.
Please let us know if any guest will need a wheelchair, Hyatt would need to add portable ramps which can be accommodated.
3. Is there parking available at the hotel for guests not staying at the wedding hotel?
Yes, Hyatt has parking available at the hotel at no cost for guests who are not staying at the Hyatt.
But, if you stay at the Hyatt and have a vehicle, as Jamaicans say, "everything irie same way" (translates to everything is "okay" or "cool" as well).
4. Will I need to rent a car?
There are many tours available from the hotel which will allow sight seeing of major attractions; so a rental may not be needed if you are guest at the Hyatt and use the tours available with the hotel.
A rental may be necessary if you plan on doing a lot of independent sight seeing but please take into account if you are accustomed to driving in north america, there are significant differences when driving in jamaica.
In Jamaica you must drive on the left side of the road. You should exercise caution more than usual, and be especially cautious at night. Speed limits in towns are 50kmph (31 mph), and 80kmph (50 mph) outside towns. Gas is measured by the imperial gallon (a British unit of measurement that's about 25% more than a U.S. gal.); some gas stations may not accept credit cards. Your valid driver's license from home is acceptable for short-term visits to Jamaica.
5. Are there any suggestions for places to eat, drink and see while I am in town for your wedding?
The Hyatt is an all-inclusive hotel with multiple entertainment and restaurant options. However, please contact the hotel concierge about options outside of the hotel property. Here are a few options that you can also consider: The Rose Hall Great House, Rafting down the Martha Brae River, Doctor's Cave Beach, Chukka Adventures tours. For food/bars check out: Houseboat Grill, The Sugar Mill at Half Moon Hotel, Marguerite's, Margaritaville, and Pier 1 on the Waterfront.
