Wedding Party

JD and Kendra met their freshman of college and he quotes "He's the best thing that has ever happened to her" well now...the second best thing. JD and Travis have also developed a friendship and can be found hanging out together as well. However, despite his attempts to work her ever lasting nerve, JD will be on the brides side of the wedding party because of their over 15 years of friendship. LOL

Shelly and Kendra met through Christina as they were matron and maid of honor respectively at Christina's wedding. They became friends as they worked closely together during the wedding process. Little did they know their friendship would blossom and they would become close friends one day. Now, Kendra is honored to have Shelly be a bridesmaid in her wedding.

Kezia and Kendra met their freshman year at Xavier University, but it wasn't until their long journey into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc these two became close. The two, now sands (line sisters) would go on to become roommates their senior year of college and always get into mischief together. Kendra definitely had to have someone represent their line in the wedding party, so who other then her Ace, the voice of the line.

McKenzie and Kendra first met in 2013 when they started working together. Their friendship grew with their silliness at work during their overnight shifts and workouts at the gym after work. McKenzie has always been a friend Kendra could turn to for good advice or just to have fun. Know when these two get together their will always be laughter and fun

An interesting fact about this friendship is the two met on Kendra's birthday at work. Initially, Kendra was quiet as she was adjusting to her new work partner. She quickly learned her new work partner was very talkative and could literally talk to a wall...lol. Before their shift was over Kendra and Andrea were talking and laughing like they had known each other for years. The two grew close and became great friends. Andrea is someone Kendra can always talk to for advice or a laugh and is still one of Kendra's closest friends to this day.

Cofi is Travis' younger brother. The two first met about 12 years ago in Guyana but became closer in recent years particularly. During the summer of 2019, Cofi visited Travis in Atlanta and they spent several weeks getting to know each other better. Nowadays, even though they live in different countries, they're still able to stay connected and involved in each others lives.

Omari is Travis' cousin. They first met while both living in NYC in the 90s but became close growing up together in GA. They attended high school just a few blocks away from each other and would carpool there daily. The bond formed while sharing iPod headphones at the back of a pickup truck for hours a day (with Atlanta traffic) is one fittingly honored with Omari's role in Travis' wedding.

Brandon is Travis' cousin on his mom's side. One of Travis' earliest memories with Brandon was exploring the wooded area behind Brandon's house with a small group of cousins lol. Since then, our families have stayed close, especially with annual meet ups like Thanksgiving and Memorial Day. Fun fact, Travis returned from his Peace Corps service a few weeks early to serve as a groomsman in Brandon's wedding in August 2016.

Henri and Travis met in 2009 as freshman in the saxophone section of Morehouse College's marching band (aka Sax Phi crabs in the House of Funk). If you don't know, the freshman experience in an HBCU marching band is...challenging. Through all of their trails, with several members dropping from the section and even a bus crash on the way to crank on Albany State, Henri and Travis held strong and crossed their section together, along with their line brother Cantrelle Johnson. In 2019, Travis served as a groomsman in Henri's wedding. Nowadays, they stay in touch through a strong group of Morehouse brothers via GroupMe and weekly calls on Wednesdays.

Rudy's and Travis' moms knew each other back in their high school days in Guyana. Rudy's mom, who Travis calls Aunty Desiree, was actually good friends with Travis' moms' sister, Aunty Dawn. The sons of two of these friends grew up together in Brooklyn. More than 15 years after Travis moved down to Atlanta, Rudy decided to give it a chance himself. Nowadays, the two still find time to talk and link consistently throughout the year.
