Bride

Many of you know me (The Bride) as Tasha or Tash.  Many of you know The Groom as RJ or Jemille.  I call him Jemille and he will be referred to that in our story.

It was a hot summer day, during the summer of 1997.  I was working as a head lifeguard at Rushmore pool.  Jemille lived down the street from the pool.  On that day, he came to the pool and stood outside the gate.  He was leaning on the gate looking in, with one hand up, wearing a polo shirt with some jeans and timberland boots.  Yes, I remember...lol.  What was he staring at through the gate?  He was staring at me in my red Baywatch lifeguard uniform!  If you ask him, he will tell you he was looking at big red...LOL.  He was good friends with some of my lifeguard staff.  He asked one of them what's up with the girl in the red?  His friend laughed at him and said, "Mill....she is way out of your league".  I know he's telling his friend "Look at me now!!!"

I went to Jemille's house one day for lunch that summer.  He made me a peanut butter & jelly sandwich.  We chatted and realized we had a lot in common, one being we both ran track.  Anyway, after lunch I left and returned to work.  He did not ask for my number and I did not ask for his number.  I was not interested in getting to know him on another level.  If you know me, you know I am as friendly as can be and that is all I was doing....I was being friendly to Jemille.  Little did I know, at that time he got mad that I didn't give him my number and ask for his, but he never told me until information until recently.  Anywho, 1997 was the last year I saw him.... Until,

January 2008, after working out in the gym, I sat down at a table to rest before going home.  Jemille sat down at the table next to me.  I didn't recognize him because he had dreads and he was a much bigger man with a nice muscle tone.  I asked him, “don't I know you?”  He said I looked familiar.  I asked him his name and I told him mine and we immediately remembered each other.   Jemille invited me out to Fridays that night with him and his boy after I expressed how hungry I was.  I gave Jemille a ride home that night.  We sat in my truck for about two hours, talking and listening to music.  From that day on, we talked every day.  We hung out a lot and grew closer over the years.

On May 29th, 2017, Jemille proposed to me in front of our family and close friends.  I said YESSSSSS!!!!!!!  We were both excited on that day, he was more nervous though, but that was still a great day in our book!

Now, here we are, getting ready to create the next chapter in our lives on June 25, 2017.  We are thankful that our family and friends can join us in this celebration.  God has blessed us and will continue to forever bless our union.
